The Celebrity Villa | Hainan, China

The design challenge was to provide private resort villas for various artists such as painters, musicians, sculptors and dancers in Sanya, Hainan, for creation, leisure, study, and relaxation.

The solution was to create flexible indoor and outdoor art accomplishment exhibition space, artist loft, and resort areas. The three functions needed to be organized organically and to form a complete artists’ private resort in space. It combines creation, exhibition, and leisure, to be a collection and private artists’ “home.”  All the resort villas are nestled into the beautiful existing natural environment.  The design of the villa is inspired by the boat house from the Li village.
