Radisson Blu Resort Hotel | Hainan, China

The Radisson Resort Hotel is located next to the Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone and Park in Hainan Sanya, China. The design illustrates a modern tropical feel and a hint of Balinese influence. The architecture is modern but with an organic edge that embraces the natural habitat surrounding this unique destination.

The goal is to maintain the same modern aesthetic while nodding to the fluidity of the natural surroundings in the movement of materials and shapes with the furnishings and artwork. That will come in the use of stone - as organic mosaic patterns for floors and on walls with textural and sheen variations - and modern furnishings with a “softness that mimics the curvature of a flower leaf that feels at home with the architecture and beautiful surroundings. The challenge is harnessing the plethora of opportunities and making sure that we do not overpower the surroundings. It is always seeking the balance.
